The 1901 homestead carries its age well — soaring ceilings, native timber the colour of old honey, verandahs that frame the ranges like a painting someone forgot to hang. Around it, five acres of garden that has been growing, layering, and surprising people for over two decades.

The Homestead
Built in 1901 on a raised sand dune above the Wairau Valley. Native timber interiors, soaring ceilings, verandahs, and 125 years of considered living. Nothing here was installed for effect.
The Garden
Five acres of layered, naturalistic planting — sculptural topiary, rare specimens, hot pink ixias and towering lilies, and ferns and orchids growing two storeys up in the tree canopy. Colour and texture at every scale. Constantly changing, never the same twice.
The Vineyard
Geometric rows running toward the Richmond Ranges, with an elevation that most vineyard shoots in this part of Marlborough simply can't access. Seasonal light here is extraordinary.
